Graduate Record Examination(GRE)
The Graduate Record Examination (GRE General test) is administred to all the students who wish to pursue a Master's course in any American and most Canadian universities. This test is intended to measure your general scholastic ability to be addmitted to the university.
GRE score is important in the evaluation of your eligibility for admission, but also on the decision whether you will be awarded financial assistance after admission.
The basic features of GRE
The GRE format is also one of multiple choice, each question offering five possible answer choices for you to choose from. However, unlike GMAT, there is no penalty for any wrong answers in GRE.
Three sections (one in each of the three areas and a possible experimental section in one of the three areas)
- 30 questions in the Verbal Ability section (30 min)
- 28 questions in the Quantitative Ability section (45 min)
- 35 questions in the Analytical Ability section (60 min)
- Experimental section consisiting of any one of the sections above
Unless the question on the screen is answered, you cannot proceed to the next question .Once you confirm your answer to a question, you cannot go back to that question (i.e., you cannot change the answer to any question once you have confirmed your answer). You will have an opportunity to see the test results as soon as you complete your test. The actual test score reports will be sent you to by mail.
GRE can be taken on any day you like with prior registration with not more than one administration for calendar month. he GRE test fee is US$ 125 currently and has to be paid in US dollars only. Your GRE score is valid for 5 years.
