- Visa details for entering UK
Indian citizens require visas for the United Kingdom unless:
" They are legally settled in the UK and are seeking to return within 2 years of departure;
" They have the right of abode in the United Kingdom; or
" They have previously been granted leave to enter or remain in the United Kingdom for a period of more than six months and are returning to the UK for the same purpose before that leave has expired, or
" They are exempt from immigration control.
A standard visit visa will grant you leave to enter the United Kingdom for a specific period of time only. You must enter the United Kingdom on or after the issue date and before the expiry date. If you try to enter the UK after the expiry date you will not be admitted. You can exit and re-enter the UK within the validity period of the visa - the standard visa therefore grants multiple entry.
- A visit visa of one, two or five years will allow you to enter the UK repeatedly within the validity period of the visa. You cannot stay for greater than 180 days on each visit.
- Student visas will indicate the period of stay permitted in the UK in accordance with the period of study. In effect the student visa will be valid for the length of your course of study. You may exit and re-enter the UK on this visa within the validity period.
